PackHelp ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Account Information (optional): If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from the sign-in provider. This is used solely to identify your account and enable cloud sync. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, we receive a relay email address instead.
Trip Data: Destinations, dates, activities, packing lists, and trip notes you create within the app.
Profile Preferences: Optional settings you provide to personalize your packing lists, which may include physical traits, medical needs (such as glasses, contacts, CPAP use, or medications), and general travel preferences. This data is used solely to generate relevant packing suggestions and is never shared for marketing purposes. You control what you enter and can remove it at any time in Settings.
Feedback Data: Post-trip feedback you voluntarily submit (e.g., items you didn't need, items you wished you'd packed). This is stored locally and, if signed in, in your cloud account to improve your future AI-generated packing lists.
Technical & Diagnostic Data: Firebase may collect limited diagnostic and crash data to maintain service stability. This data is associated with a device identifier, not your name or email. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
Local Storage: By default, all your data is stored locally on your device. It never leaves your device unless you sign in and enable cloud sync.
Cloud Storage: If you sign in, your data is synced to Google Firebase/Firestore so it can be accessed across your devices. Data is stored in your authenticated account and is not accessible to other users.
The app uses the following third-party services:
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Data is only shared with the third-party services listed in Section 3 to the minimum extent necessary to provide core app functionality.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. Cloud data is stored in Google Firebase, which uses industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Local data remains on your device until you delete the app or clear app data. Cloud data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (Settings > Account > Delete Account), all associated cloud data — including trip history, profile preferences, and feedback — is permanently deleted within 30 days. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription; please cancel through the App Store first.
If you are located outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where Google's servers are located. By using the app, you consent to this transfer. We rely on Google Firebase's data processing terms, which include appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your personal information, and opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
